CSEC 2320 - Advanced Network Defense - 3 credits
This course examines theoretical understanding of network security principles as well as the tools and configurations available. The course will emphasize the practical application of skills needed to design, implement, and support network security. Students will develop critical thinking and complex problem solving skills using simulation-based scenarios that promote the exploration of networking security concepts, allowing students to experiment with network behavior and ask What if questions. Students will be equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to prepare for entry-level security specialist careers. The course will cover modern network security threats, securing network devices, authentication, authorization and accounting, firewall technologies, intrusion prevention, cryptography, implementing virtual private networks, managing a secure network, and implementing the cisco adaptive security appliance.Section Availability
