Course Level

This course covers the basic coding rules and principles for coding diseases using the ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, ICD-9-CM, and CPT-4/HCPCS Level I and Level II classification systems. Further emphasis is placed on proper procedures to code and index diagnoses and procedures. The need for accuracy and following coding rules is stressed. Prerequisites: HIMC1110, HIMC1120
