  • First day attendance is mandatory.
  • Fees: ATI assessment testing fee is $308.34. Prerequisites: Admitted to ELMSN program; NURS 603, NURS 462, NURS 623. Co-requisites: NURS 690P. Note: This course combines reduced classroom time with significant online work. Intermediate computer/Internet skills, microphone, and web cam required. Theory portion of course will be via Zoom. For online learning and course access information go to www.metrostate.edu/solr. All meeting dates are required. Meeting dates online via Zoom: Aug. 26th 9am-12pm; Sept. 15th 9am-12pm, 16th 9am-12pm; Oct. 27th 9am-12pm, 28th 9am-12:30pm; Nov. 17th 9am-3pm, 18th 9am-3pm, 19th 9am-3pm. In person computer lab dates: Oct. 14 and Dec. 2 8am-11:30am.

Description
This seminar course provides a foundation to the role transition from student to professional nurse. Emphasis is placed on synthesizing theories, principles, concepts and skills from nursing and other disciplines as a basis for implementing holistic nursing care directed toward healing in the human health experience. Students demonstrate integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical decision making in simulated complex clinical experiences and presentations. Competence Statement: Knows the art and science of the nursing discipline well enough to make the clinical judgments that ensure the provision of safe, holistic care required of an entry-level professional nurse.
