  • Fees: ATI assessment testing fee is $397. Disposable supply kit fee is $60.25. Prerequisite: NURS 270 and NURS 275; Co-requisites: NURS 282 AND NURS 285. Note: This course is reserved for students in the St. Paul MANE-BSN cohort. Must be compliant with nursing department pre-practicum requirements policy. LAB Wednesdays 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM; CLINICAL Thursdays and Fridays as arranged. Frontloading dates Jan. 16, 17, 23, 24 9am-3pm.

Description
This course focuses on the nursing care of clients experiencing chronic illness and/or end of life. Emphasis is placed on understanding the lived experience of clients and families. Ethical issues related to advocacy, self-determination, and autonomy are explored. Evidence-based practice is used to support appropriate focused assessments and management of care of clients experiencing concurrent illnesses/co-morbidities.
