  • Prerequisites: NURS 621 Primary Care Nursing I: Primary Prevention Across the Lifespan and NURS 621P Primary Care Nursing I Practicum and NURS 627 Applied Pharmacology for Advanced Nursing Practice. Note: This is a completely online course, not an independent study. Course has no required in-person or synchronous meetings. There are required online activities and assignments each week. May require remotely proctored exams that require a webcam and microphone. Intermediate computer/Internet skills required. This course utilizes the Schuler Nurse Practitioner Practice Model and other nursing theories to focus on evidence-based prevention concepts, health maintenance, diagnosis, and management of specific health conditions. Students demonstrate increasing proficiency in assessment and diagnostic reasoning skill through the interpretation of subjective and objective data.
