  • Restricted to students in the MN 18 Online Program. Must be enrolled in a Masters program or have a prior Masters degree and have at least 15 credits of undergraduate mathematics with course grades of C- or better. Description: This is a first course in graduate-level topology. We begin with a review of analysis of the real numbers and quickly turn our focus to topology. We will explore topologies, bases, product, subspace, and quotient topologies. We will work with concepts of connectedness, compactness, local compactness, and homeomorphisms. Finally, we will explore the fundamental group and some algebraic topology.
