Description: This course expands current understanding and applications of visual art throughout organizational structures, communities and society. Students will learn about potential vocational and employment opportunities for artists within non-profits, community centers, city governments, museums, and cultural or historical centers. The history and potential of exemplar public art, social engagement and community art projects will be researched and considered. Participants will take inventory of their personal interests and regional assets to extend their course learning into creating a public or community art-based practicum or project to complete.
